Infants

The Little Fish infant room accommodates 4 to 6 babies from their first month until 23 months. The class ratio is 1:2 or 1:3 – depending on enrollment of no more than 6 infants.

Though child development and growth follows a predictable pattern, each child develops at their own rate. Development proceeds from the simple to the complex with one skill building upon another. And nothing happens in isolation. Early learning is like a well conducted orchestra – with each set of skills or learning domains being interrelated and following a natural rhythm that ebbs and flows in response to stimuli in the surrounding environment. We are all naturally wired to do the very things that will help us develop and grow. At Little Fish we provide the resources that will refine and tune this blossoming orchestra.

As they grow, a highly creative learning environment encourages intellectual development. A primary care team ensures a sense of security that will foster self-confidence and the willingness to explore. The classroom is carefully designed to invite safe participation, inspire natural curiosity and enhance the traditional learning experiences for each child – a classroom that we refer to as the “third teacher.”
